This is a story that no-one has ever heard of. The year was 1943 – the height of World War II. It’s a story representing the fabric of who we are as Americans. A story showcasing how a town, Aberdeen, South Dakota, decided to help. A story about how hunters of the town saw a need and pooled their resources of gasoline and shotgun shells. Their service was to supply pheasants to the Canteen that was serving the soldiers headed to war. This is their story.
