When the Department of Conservation decided to enact its Operational Plan for 2020 – 2021 without true consultation of the hunting community, we felt propelled to do something. Something that would show our true heart, and our true love for Tahr. So we decided to introduce 4 non-hunters to this thing that we loved so much. We knew that if we could show them the animal, show them how we hunt, show them the interaction between Tahr and the landscape, that could get a small glimpse into our world. This is the first documentary conservation project of the Blood Origins organization and its fitting that we continued to take an out-of-the-box approach to convey the truth around hunting. Thank you to Si, Eden, Sophie, and Josh for trusting us. Thank you to Snow, who accepted our request to be the guide for these 4 non-hunters into the backcountry of New Zealand.
